Texas Hold'em Poker

Texas hold'em is the most popular poker game played worldwide. Texas Hold'em is a community card game where each player may use any combination of the five community cards (cards on the table) and their own two cards to make the best possible poker hand.

An additional concept which helps keep the game moving and being more exciting is the concept of 'Blinds'. The two players to the left of the dealer are known as the 'small blind' and 'big blind', respectively. These two players are obliged to add money into the pot even before they have seen their first two cards.

The small blind has to bet 1/2 of the minimum bet at the table, while the big blind has to bet equal to the minimum bet.

The usual structure is to use two blinds, but it is possible to play with one blind, multiple blinds, an ante, or combination of blinds plus an ante.

1- First two Cards
Each player is dealt two cards face down. These are the player's private cards. Each player looks at their cards and a round of betting proceeds. Play stars to the left of the dealer and each player can 'bet', 'raise', or 'fold' depending on how strong they feel their 'hand' is.
If a player raises then following players must either match that raise ('call') or fold (put down their cards).

2- The Flop
Once the first round of betting has finished, then three face-up cards are dealt to the middle of the table. These three cards are known as 'The Flop' and represent community cards shared by everyone at the table. At this point, each player has a 5 card hand composed of two private cards and the three community cards.
The game continues and each player can choose either to 'bet', 'raise' or 'fold'.

3- The Turn
After everyone has already bet on The Flop, another community card is dealt. The 4th card called 'The Turn'.

4- The River
After betting, a final community card is dealt (also called 'The River'). A final round of betting ensues. Once this is complete, all players reveal their two private cards. This stage also called 'showdown'.
If only one person remains in the game, while all other people have folded, then that person wins the pot. Otherwise, the player with the best possible hand out of their set of cards is the winner.
